Utah’s mountain resorts bring us chills and thrills every winter, but the chill they offer in the summer is the most welcome kind. Summer activities include:

Deer Valley
Lift-served mountain biking/hiking and scenic chairlift rides, shopping and concerts at the Snow Park Lodge Outdoor Amphitheater. Nearby activities include golf, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, fishing, hot air ballooning, shopping and dining along Park City’s historic Main Street.

Powder Mountain
For the first time since the ‘90s, Powder Mountain will feature a summer program of biking and hiking. Stay tuned for details.

Snowbird
From concerts and festivals to the Alpine Slide and scenic Aerial Tram rides to Hidden Peak, there is something for the entire family to enjoy. Other mountain activities include hiking, fishing, horseback and ATV tours in Mineral Basin, hiking, mountain scooters and mountain biking, the ZipRider, Bungy Trampoline, mechanical bull, kid’s inflatable playland and rides on the new Peruvian Express Chairlift and Tunnel. Resort visitors enjoy patio dining and exquisite views at the nearly 900-room resort.

Solitude
Solitude offers scenic chairlift rides, Sunday brunch on the patio at Creekside Restaurant, 18 holes of disc (Frisbee) golf on its high alpine course, mountain biking on the 20 miles of single track, Diggler Mountain Scooters—which are a cross between razor street scooters and mountain bikes, lift-served hiking, wildflower walks, movies, children’s fishing in the pond, plus bird and animal shows. In addition, they host the Wildflower Festival Weekend in late June and the Taste of the Nation in early August.

Sundance
In summer, Utah’s snow-covered slopes give way to some of the best hiking and biking terrain on earth. Sundance has over 10 miles of alpine hiking trails, from meandering forest to steep mountain terrain, with an additional 25-plus miles of single track biking trails. Both hiking and biking trails can be accessed from the lift. State of the art full suspension bikes can be rented at its Mountain Outfitters Shop. Sundance also offers horseback riding in summer and fly-fishing year round in partnership with Rocky Mountain Outfitters. RMO is also an Orvis endorsed fly-fishing guide.
