HARVEY MILK VIGIL
Put hatred and violence aside at the Harvey Milk Vigil and Remembrance, a time to honor a tragic hero who fought for gay rights in an emerging San Francisco. Milk was assassinated at age 48, along with Mayor George Moscone by disgruntled politician Dan White. Organizers ask that you bring inclusive, positive posters and signs that promote stopping violence and are pro LGBTQ for a respectful vigil. Milk lived in a time of division and animosity, not unlike what the United States is experiencing today. 900 South and 700 East (corner of Liberty Park), 315-657-2911, Wednesday, Nov. 28, noon-12:30 p.m., free, bit.ly/2zXlshg.

POST-PROP 2 Game Plan
You might have read that the backers of Proposition 2 to legalize medical cannabis are thinking about suing over undue influence by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That the people have spoken by approving a very difficult citizen initiative seems to have simply energized opponents, who have called for an immediate special session to significantly modify the law. Former Mayor Rocky Anderson is leading the charge against eviscerating it. Indivisible Ogden will hold a Save Prop 2 Special Legislative Session Meeting to "explore options to make the peoples' voices heard." Pleasant Valley Library, 5568 S. Adams Ave., Ogden, Saturday, Nov. 24, 1-4 p.m., free, bit.ly/2QOEr4A.

CAMPAIGN STRATEGIES
Elections can just seem mystifying, especially when all your hard work and passionate advocacy land you in the losers' category. Come listen to How to Win the Campaigns of Tomorrow with Steve Johnston, a guy who "builds brands, moves public opinion and uses data to help advertisers make smarter decisions. ... As a member of Google's elections team, Steve drove the adoption of digital advertising with campaigns, super PACs, and political party organizations," according to the event's website. He worked for several campaigns, some winning and one—Sen. John McCain's presidential bid—memorable in its loss. Gardner Commons—Hinckley Caucus Room, University of Utah, 260 S. Central Campus Drive, Ste. 2018, 801-581-8501, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2-3 p.m., free, bit.ly/2Pu5BRP.
