Charge the Vatican

Arizona’s immigration law is much too little and way too late [“Police State,” July 8, City Weekly]. It is not our fault that Mexico is vastly overpopulated. It is Mexico’s fault, and the Roman Catholic Church’s fault. And since Mexicans and the Catholic Church (which opposes birth control) caused this mess, let them take responsibility and clean it up.

If Mexicans do not immediately return to Mexico voluntarily, we should round them up and send them across the border. Since this is expensive to do, half the bill should be sent to the Mexican government and the other half sent to the Vatican.
