Many authors find inspiration in Utah. Terry Tempest Williams inspiration put her at the forefront of environmental literature, while Edward Abbey’s legendary Desert Solitaire took root in our home state.
The King’s English Bookshop would like to nurture Utah’s pool of talented novelists by holding an evening to “Celebrate Local Authors.” Authors Jenna Cooper, Rachel Geerdes and Cathlene Smith will read from and sign their latest novels in the Sugar House shop.
Up-and-coming author Jenna Cooper will sign her new novel Turned, a fantasy that takes two children from different classes on a challenging journey. Rachel Greerdes will introduce Chasing Demons, the newest installment in her popular Mistress of Beasts series. Cathlene Smith got her start writing poetry and short stories, but now reveals her first full-length psychological thriller Slivers of Reality. Come mingle with Utah’s promising authors who are gaining nationwide recognition.
