It’s not too late to schedule a 10-minute meeting with Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker. This weekend, the organization One Billion Rising will be hosting a slew of events to raise awareness of violence against women. Later on, listen to former Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon explain how local governments get along—or don’t—with the federal government.

Until Wednesday, Feb. 20, you can pencil in 10 minutes with Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker to discuss any burning topic of municipal business you want, be it parking rates, bike lanes, or bus and TRAX schedules. One Billion Rising
Thursday-Friday, Feb. 14-15

Feb. 14 is V-Day, a day raising awareness of violence against women and girls until the violence stops. This weekend, join One Billion Rising as they bring attention to this global epidemic. On Thursday, check out a flash mob at the Draper Ikea, and on Friday, attend a benefit dinner with proceeds helping nonprofit Women of the World, which provides relief to refugee women relocated to Utah.
