The Tin Angel Café is one of those newer eateries in town placed at a once-unlikely site — in this case, just off the south edge of Pioneer Park. The artistic menu serves this both urban and urbane eatery especially well. Comedian Brooke Connolly, who has been featured in Bust Magazine, presents Take Your Places, taking snapshots from the road like “Approved Clean Restrooms ” at a roadside stop and places them inside backlit electrical light boxes for an unusual ornament.
Laura Besterfeldt’s jewelry in the Amuse- Bouche collection tempts the palate in its own way, depicting what might be menu items like “Lavender packed mussels finished with sterling silver and a dollop of amethyst,” as well as a vino piece, a salmon-fin hat pin garnished with a rosemary sprig, a bowtie pasta bolo tie and a fusilli pasta chain clasped with octopus legs. It’s elegant wearable art that draws double-takes and appetizing table talk.
