Bright Whistles, a Los Angeles/Utah based art pop-funk-dance band, will release new album White Bristles on June 18 at Velour Live Music Gallery in Provo, Utah.

White Bristles, the first studio album by Bright Whistles, utilizes energetic indie rock songwriting, advanced production techniques, experimental sounds, and intricate rhythms.Bright Whistles has become known for their wild and wacky performances at their concerts by incorporating performance art, crowd participation, and lots and lots of dancing. They have been known to change costumes on stage, use props, give audience members costumes, and lead group dances.

The band started in 2010 as a duo with Logan Hone and Shane Webb. For 3 years, Bright Whistles was a constantly evolving group of musicians, centered around Logan Hone, before settling as a trio with Luke Williams (bass/synth) and Jesse Quebbeman-Turley (drums) in the fall of 2013. Since becoming a trio, Bright Whistles has begun writing songs together and has become a collaborative group by combining their extensive experience in avant garde jazz, modern classical music, and performance art with their love for pop and funk. This amalgamation of influences combines to create a band and live show that is completely original.

Instead of releasing a music video for the single “I Heard a Voice”, Bright Whistles instead released a lo-fi video game created by Luke Williams. You can play the game on their website and hear the single on their bandcamp page.
