Hungry in Salt Lake City? There’s an app for that.

Useful foodie apps have been popping up recently, making eating out in Salt Lake City a whole lot easier. You can download free apps on your smartphone to track down food trucks, order Greek take-out or even save a few bucks at your favorite restaurant.

Greek Souvlaki, one of Salt Lake’s oldest (and Greek-est) fast-food joints, has launched its own free app, which lets you order gyros and more without waiting. Available in the iTunes app store, it’s an ideal solution for busy weeknights and quick work lunches.

Zest Kitchen & Bar (ZestSLC.com)—a downtown bar that serves vegetarian food and creative cocktails—has developed a unique app that “keeps people informed of events and offers special discounts,” says owner and chef Casey Staker. You can reserve seating, collect loyalty rewards and peruse the gallery of Zest food porn. Downloading the Zest app gets you access to temporary deals like $5 off during lunch hours—and use the money you save on the fabulous chocolate cake.

For food-truck enthusiasts, NomNom Finder (NomNomFinder.com) promises to revolutionize the way you find your favorite food truck. With the app, you can locate food trucks or even plan your week around them. If you don’t see your favorite truck, just submit it. “NomNom Finder is an app that was born out of a real need to find food trucks in real-time,” says co-founder Hala Saleh. “Food trucks are growing in popularity here in Utah and all over the country, and the NomNom team are big fans.”

Whether you’re in the mood for cocktails and small plates or stalking food trucks along the Wasatch Front, technology has once again made your life awesome. Download these apps, support local businesses and gratify your cravings.
