Canceled: Dollhouse, Eastwick & Hank

After the ol' True TV column was laid to rest for the week, ABC up and killed Eastwick and Hank (two Worst picks), and Fox shut down Dollhouse (which we all saw coming). The Jay Leno Show zombie, however, still roams the earth ... ---

Hank was a dog from the beginning; it couldn't survive being a weak lead-off for a night of superior comedies--reportedly, Modern Family repeats will now fill the slot (squeal!). Eastwick will run out its remaining episodes (there's a total of 13, with no resolution for the jiggly witches), and the Ugly Betty folks must be coveting that Wednesday-at-9 vacancy--who wants to be stuck on Dead Friday?

Not Dollhouse, which Fox saddled with the doomed slot from the get-go ... and then took it away! Allegedly, all 13 episodes of Season 2 will still begin burning off in December--unless Fox changes their mind again, as they're wont to do.

Maybe Dollhouse will wrap up with its shit firmly together, because it's been a damned erratic ride thus far--and increasingly difficult to convince newbies to buy in. This is still my favorite piece of Fox propaganda, a Grindhouse-style promo for last season's brilliant-but-doomed pairing with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Maybe Eliza Dushku can guest on Sons of Anarchy ...
