Back to School

Would you go back in time and change anything about your academic career?

Alissa Wells: Everything. I would have worked my ass off and worked with my counselors to make sure I went to college. I love you, City Weekly, but my place in life is supposed to be picking crap out of strangers’ teeth for a living.

Austen Diamond: The only class I failed in college was voice. The instructor wouldn’t let me sing rock & roll; rather, she insisted I learn the “basics” (classic Greek sonatas, naturally). I wish I would have officially dropped it; instead I just stopped going.

Rachel Scott: I woulda gotten me a sugar momma to pay for it.

Christopher Westergard: I would have skipped that six-year “break” and just powered through school so I would have graduated before I turned 30. Better later than never.

Cody Winget: I should have majored in history and philosophy in college like I really wanted to.

Bill Frost: If only I’d stuck it out at DeVry Institute, I could have made something of myself and contributed to society.

Eric S. Peterson: There was a class that seemed to be taught by a very inspiring and passionate teacher but that I dropped after the first day because the teacher made us break into groups and act out skits. Looking back ... I wish I never would’ve signed up for it in the first place. Stupid skits.

Jerre Wroble: Used the tuition funds from my first noncommittal college semesters on a ticket to Findhorn, Scotland, to live the communal life. It still might happen.
