Sorry for My Abuse

Even though I never meant to hurt “Michael” or his family, I now know that I did and take full responsibility for my wrongdoings [“Warped Desire,” Aug. 2, City Weekly]. I deserve to be here in prison for what I did to him and pay the consequences that will follow me throughout my incarceration.

I’m sorry for all the pain, suffering and shame I have caused Michael and his family. He has every right to be angry at me, to wish me harm and to hate me for what I do. It’s a normal response to the feelings of betrayal that he’s going through right now.

If my suffering and pain in here helps him to move on and feel a sense of justice, I will suffer with dignity and will experience the pain that will help him to move on with his life. I just hope that one day he can find it in his heart to forgive me.

Michael, I’m sorry I wasn’t the mentor you needed, the father figure you deserved or the friend that I was supposed to be. I’m sorry, buddy, I failed you.
