I’m new to Salt Lake City and looking for interesting restaurants, so after reading your review of the R&R Texas barbecue [“Bragging Rights," May 23, City Weekly], I went over on Saturday for dinner, with my appetite all set.
They had run out of food—no brisket, no ribs, no pulled pork. Astounded, I asked why they hadn’t made enough for a Saturday-night crowd, especially after a glowing full-page review. I don’t know how good or not good the food is, but I do think these guys aren’t good business planners. Is it worth going back? If so, I’ll call ahead to make sure there’s enough food.
