Carlos' stand became Carlos Bar-B-Q in Salt Lake City and nine years -- in 1950 -- later he opened his first Arctic Circle, specializing in items like "Brown Toppers" and "Ranch Burgers." Arctic Circle is also said to be the originator of Utah's ubiquitous fry sauce.
