Are you tired of the same old stale autumn happenings—Halloween parties, haunted houses, corn mazes—and itching for a quirky, offbeat night on the town? Why not give the fourthannual Halloween-themed arts show An October Evening, presented by SKS Productions and the Salt Lake Film Society, a try?

An October Evening presents dance, fashion, art, photography, music and short films to tickle your dark side. Featuring primarily local independent artists, the offerings include dance by the Latter-Day Transvestites, fashion from Co/Ma Clothing and Nihilistic Fashion, art by Patrick Kendall, photography by Ren Lee of BellaOra Studios, music by the Vile Blue Shades, and films by Stephen Simmons, Matthew Pool and others.

The theme of October Evening 2009 is Classic Movie Monster. The timeless oldies but goodies—Frankenstein, Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula and the Wolfman— have starring roles. This October evening promises to be a night to remember.

An October Evening @ Tower Theatre, 876 E. 900 South, 801-347-4047, Oct. 19, doors open 7 p.m., show 7:30 p.m. AnOctoberEvening.org
