The American Fork Symphony will present a rousing musical celebration of America on Monday, July 14 for the Official Opening of Steel Days 2014. This outdoor concert, under the direction of conductor Shauna Smith, will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Amphitheater at Quail Cove, 851 East 700 North. Titled 'Salute to America' the event will begin with the Posting of Colors, Pledge and taps by the National Guard. The Steel Days Grand Marshal will be introduced and recognized. The Symphony will present a variety of toe-tapping 'pops' favorites from patriotic to Broadway. Included are 'American Salute' by Gould, A Salute to the Big Apple', 'Gershwin in Concert', 'Armed Forces Salute', 'The Stars and Stripes Forever' by Sousa, and other musical favorites that everyone will enjoy.
