America demonstrated against kings, but Trump is already ruling by decree.

Donald J. Trump is busy digging America’s grave. Any illusions that America is the banner-carrier of freedom are giving way to the reality of the Trump Idiocracy and the understanding that if there really is a hell, Donald Trump will be there. Despite the prayers of his worshipful Christian-Right puppeteers and mournful sycophants, that place down-under will be his final Mar-a-Lago.

The only reason that fat-consuming, hamburger addict hasn’t died yet is that he’s too scared of what lies beyond the grave. According to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s meticulous spying—the same spying that determined Iran was not a present threat—there are no golf courses in the devil’s domain. Despite his gaudy displays of peacock-bright plumage, our Trump lives in constant fear that his coronary arteries will finally get plugged up with too many patties, mayo and sesame seed buns.

But, understanding that death is inevitable for all, Trump has already made budget provisions for his Viking-style funeral, wherein a U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier will become his funeral bier, carrying his remains to sea, and being ceremoniously burned to the waterline. Price tag: $21 Billion, but DOGE will make up for it in additional governmental savings—primarily in cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare. Thank heaven for DOGE.

In the meantime, it’s “Long live the king.” For a while, Trump was able to bask in the ridiculously worshipful, honey-drenched praise of his subjects. But despite his own claims of how much Americans love him, his abysmally-low poll numbers tell the real story. His ratings are in the golden toilet.

After his 2024 election—the razor-thin win that he describes as a “landslide victory”—he’s been on a continuous downhill slide. People aren’t happy that inflation, no matter what the government is telling you, is pretty much out of control. They’re not happy that the U.S. economy has been badly handled and that the prophets of doom are pointing to a world economic crisis.

They’re pretty upset about the president’s knee-jerk policies and his almost-immediate reversals. With his new nickname, TACO—"Trump Always Chickens Out,” which has a definite Hispanic ring to it—he himself may be in danger of deportation. Now there’s a great idea!

Even Trump’s high approval numbers on immigration have deteriorated because of the ICE fiasco, which has confronted Americans with the disturbing understanding that Hispanic people are being indiscriminately targeted and deported, without the benefit of due process. His popularity has been crashing. Criticism, which was initially a partisan preoccupation, has become bipartisan, and now some of his staunchest supporters are fighting back at his out-of-control efforts to make America white again.

As a telling flag of Trump’s serial failures, the attendance at his Army parade showed a dearth of interested spectators. Even his secretary of state couldn’t keep his eyes open, and Melania’s facial expressions and feigned smile betrayed her loathing of the SOB she married. Press coverage showed that the attendance was, at best, sparse.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, here comes the real killer: Trump’s campaign promise to stay out of new wars has now been tossed into the trash heap. A couple of weeks ago, he announced that he’d take “two weeks” before deciding whether or not to do something about Iran’s near-weapons-quality nuclear fuel enrichment program. Like a toddler who has to sneakily unwrap the toys under the tree weeks before Christmas, he once again found himself unable to do the adult thing—waiting to make an educated and prudent decision.

A good leader would have carefully weighed the situation, but we must keep in mind: Trump is certainly not a “good leader.” He’s just a juvenile nincompoop unfit for office, and he isn’t and never was presidential material.

Now, suddenly, we’re in that war that Trump promised to avoid, and American military assets are being targeted. It didn’t matter what the intelligence had shown—that Iran was not getting close to having a nuclear weapon. He dismissed the statements of his own intelligence staff, just to show America and the world that he had absolute power.

The “No Kings” demonstrations brought millions of Americans together to protest Trump’s authoritarian regime. In virtually all major cities and some smaller communities, citizens exercised their rights of free speech and peaceful assembly to protest what has threatened to be a hostile takeover of our government by a criminal megalomaniac.

Only one week later that nitwit-toddler-narcissist-felon-maniac proved that he was, indeed, the U.S. monarch and would do whatever he damned-well pleases. So much for protests!

Without approval of Congress, and in flagrant violation of the Constitution, he committed yet another crime against America’s citizens by attacking a sovereign nation with, what may be—not counting the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki—the biggest single bombing in the history of our world.

The 14, 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs were delivered to their destinations by a fleet of B2 Stealth Bombers, supported by a protective phalanx of supersonic fighters and airborne refueling platforms. The operation, designated “Midnight Hammer,” didn’t just violate U.S. laws—it was a flagrant violation of international law as well, and horrified other nations, friendly and hostile, throughout the world.

Now it’s for sure—Trump isn’t just a convicted U.S. felon, he’s become an international criminal as well. We don’t have the numbers yet, but you can bet a substantial number of human lives—collateral damage—ended during those moments of destruction.

The big question is “Where is Congress hiding, and why is there no one up to the task of reigning Trump in?”

We cannot allow this to slip by. Even if you’re one of those who believes the strike against Iran was prudent, you must face the fact that our president is rogue, that America’s democracy is in mortal danger and that Congress is asleep. We must force our legislators to perform their constitutional responsibilities. That means successful impeachment proceedings against Trump and all those who have facilitated his current criminal spree.
