A MidSummer Night’s Dream

What, more Shakespeare? No, the title does not indicate a performance of Shakespeare’s famed comedy. But, it’s fair to say that this unique combination of music and performance art was inspired by the play’s themes.

Tonight, The Urban Lounge hosts a night of music featuring four bands: La Farsa; Libbie Linton; Welsh touring band Ember; and Oh! Wild Birds side-project Knight Queen Temper. But the music is only part of the experience, as the bar is transformed into an enchanted forest as performance artists dress themselves as trees throughout the club, and dancers become mystical fairies joining the revelers. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the occasion as well, since coming in costume will land you a $3 discount off the cover charge. Get into the spirit of fairy magic, and maybe even land a gift basket for your costume.

Oberon himself would be pleased.
