First of all, I have been hitchhiking since I was thirteen, and the worst experiences I have had hitchhiking through SLC. There is a particularly nefarious group of individuals working out of the truck stops not too far from downtown. What their business is making the lives of the homeless and travelers miserable, I still do not know, but they are cautious. This is a flying J on 27th; do not stop, do not pass go, do not collect 200$. You could lose your life. These people are serious. Recommend SLC to highly experienced and armed travelers(hitchhikers, I mean)
