Arthur Conan Doyle's last 3 books on Sherlock Holmes were published between 1903 and 1924, that's 21 years between 3 books, in a time where it was easier to dedicate time to a project, yeah technology was lousier, but distractions weren't a plenty.
As I have said several times, and the author kindly wrote in this article: You can't rush art! You pay for the books and then you read them, that's the whole story. Want the next one? Wait for it. Tired of waiting because we don't have developed any patience on this consumist society that wants everything now and thinks the receptor is always right? Then abandon the saga's, the authors and the REAL fans will welcome it and you will stop whining. Problem solved!
