Re: “Locked and Loaded

Sheriff Rosie can't "comment." That would mean she's got nothing to say. Sheriff Rosie just got herself a fresh 4 years to not comment on jailhouse deaths and Sim Gill will have Rosie's back. A damn fine system Salt Lake County has for itself.
Of course if you don't do the crime, you won't have to do the time. Or get killed in the process.

Re: “Dying and Living in Utah

Bravo and thank you Mr. Kane. Coming close to the end of days and this is important news. One thing is for certain, life flashes by so fast it's amazing how fast it passes. Almost in a blink. Anyway, this is helpful information. It's come to the point where that last great transition becomes an adventure in the unknown.

Re: “Oasis Lost

This is Utah and the only thing the land is good for is development, highways, mining, oil and gas exploitation, rape, and the occasional wildfire. The loss of wetlands around the Great Salt Lake will be felt by our grandchildren not yet raised or born. Oh well. Use the land wisely? Not a chance in legislative hell.

Re: “Rose Park to Magna

Jeepers, I missed this article from last week (Aug. 8, 2018) and I do apologize. Usually I'm looking for John's wit and wisdom. Anyway, Rose Park? Are you kidding? Rose Park has a notorious if not seamy underbelly that rarely gets any attention whatsoever. Well maybe apart from Court Records. Besides, Rose Park sends high school kids to West High. Yes, West High home of the Panthers. The West High Panthers used to be scandalous.
I can suppose that with the passage of years and rising property values, Rose Park's reputation may have mellowed. It is possible. Once upon a time and way back in the day, Rose Park was home to the Salt Lake City dump. Oh yes, that is true.
Ah northwest Salt Lake, those were the days.

Re: “‘A Rational World’

Hatch would be the ultimate lame duck hypocrite. Of course Hatch has always been a hypocrite and probably worse than that.
Kavanaugh doesn't deserve Senate consideration UNTIL after the November 2018 election. Turn about is fair play. Well probably not in Hatch world.

Re: “Hurts So Good

Cream and Jimi Hendrix. Dang, those were the days. Then Nixon happened and Reagan happened and holy crap, life went by in a blink. Medical marijuana will NEVER get a "recommend" from THE Church. Never. Oh well, a bunker mentality has always suited Utah like a cheap missionary suit.
Peace John.

Re: “Terrible Terry

Hi John. I remember Terry Nish. I can remember when the Weekly wasn't even in Salt Lake. However my best memories are when the Weekly was in the Shoebrick. Damn, those were the days. I'm sorry to hear of Terry's passing. A Utah icon without doubt. I can remember when Yengich wrote for the Weekly. Damn, we're getting old. I suppose it's better to get old than the other obvious choice. Hmmm, maybe not a choice. Downtown Salt Lake has changed and not for the better. Mayor Biscupcake could care less. Hmmm, I miss Rocky. Oh damn, nostalgia is like an infestation of green algae in Utah Lake. Oh well. Peace on you Mr. Saltas.
sincerely,
Don Nash
