Wait, Joplin. So you want more parking downtown, but you want a better bike and pedestrian friendly city? Do you not see how those things don't go together? Easy, convenient parking gives people more incentive to drive to a place right? The farmer's market, to use your example, has a bike valet on the SE corner where you can park your bike for free. Every time I go to the market there are hundreds of bikes because, yes, it's easier to ride a bike there than it is to find a parking spot. It sounds like you don't live in SLC, but I invite you to move downtown. It's much easier to bike and walk places when you live nearby 😀
