Ok, I agree with the people above AND I will take it one step further. You could have easily put a photo of Tagge's produce up here and not one small local farmer would have complained. I personally have photos of semi's in front of their fruit stand unloading pallets of fruits and veggies for them to re-sell. While attending Mary Ann Alston's market a few years ago I questioned them about having immense amounts of 'local' sweet cherries early in the year, was lied to by their booth staff, and an older blonde lady later came up to me and told me that the cherries were brought in from out of state. Yet this year again they were selling local cherries for $8 a lb (bag) five weeks ago. Before cherries were even ripe on trees in Brigham/Perry.
No other vendor really wants to be the bad guy and report to Kim, or any other market manager as we are all just out there making a living. But it sickens every single one of us when a false claim of local, organic, or whatever the latest trend is is is made.
People really do need to investigate where their food is coming from. If you see fruit or veggies that just seem out of place, ASK exactly where they are grown. An honest farmer will give you an address. And don't hesitate to check it out.
