Re: “Called Into Question

I, too, worked with Tim, and although a tad eccentric and somewhat of a loose canon, he hit the nail on the head and I commend him for getting this info out. I was wondering how the AG hadn't shut all these companies down yet!
The coaching companies mentioned ALL overpromise and underdeliver. I worked in the local coaching and mentoring sales arena for a long time and can't believe how they all stay in business. Sure maybe 1-2% actually are successful (meaning they at least made their $8,000 back) but most end up with a huge credit card bill and a box of books. Preying on the desperate, the ignorant, the elderly, they sell the dream. The sales scripts all say "you should make your money back in 60-90 days" and convince people to use Other People's Money, which is their credit card, because the rep can get paid up front and not have to wait for checks. Sales reps are trained to make people feel like crap about themselves, hype them up about their dreams, and then tell them they have to qualify and be invited aboard. Truth is they'll sell anyone with a credit card. Sales reps convince themselves what they're doing is okay because they're all on commission and need to pay for their bills and addictions. Very sad to hear about Dee, he was a good guy.
Hope some of these sales floors make big changes...
