Re: “Provisions

Seriously? Did 12ERs even read the review? The writing is why I follow Ted Scheffler. His reviews are honest, fair and interesting. I also read his columns and skim the other ones. And I appreciate that he is a food critic who has a heart – he does care about the people in the restaurants – but that doesn’t mean that he won’t be objective and fair. And what’s with the Ryan Lowder comment Darius? What do you two numb-nuts do for a living? I’d say you are just the latest wanna-be-opinionated fool.
So back to what this is really about – a great restaurant and a talented columnist – we are lucky to have in this state that I love. Along with all of the diversity in restaurants and people who enjoy them.

Re: “Turn, Turn, Turn

This place is ridiculously amazing! I went there with three friends and we all shared dishes, I loved everything I tried!

Re: “Ghost Story

I love this place! I'm so happy it made it into your magazine. I'm from Washington DC and I went to Utah for business trip. I love the molcajete and I can't wait to visit again in November!! Best Mexican food hands down!

Re: “Taco Taco, Tamales Tita

There's a Taco Taco restaurant in Ogden that has been in business for over 16 years. One would hope that a restauranteur would look into that type of thing before selecting a name.

By the way, Taco Taco at 2931 Washington Boulevard in Ogden is great hole in the wall Mexican food.

Re: “The Beer Mile

Salt City Brew Supply is also on 7200 south in the "beer mile". If you fancy yourself a beer need and want to learn how to make it yourself, stop by and see them.

Ted, you should be a carpenter, because you hit the nail on the head.

Re: “Pizza Pursuit

Ted, how about your next pizza article is about locale? Getting pizza is a distinctly local experience--the best is hot, good, and somewhere in your neighborhood. Pizza is a spontaneous indulgence, which is all about how close you can find it. What is the best in Salt Lake City, Sugarhouse, Ogden, Sandy, Park City, etc? Thanks! Curtis

Re: “Burrito Madness

This seems really half assed. Only 3 spots? Is this part 1 of an ongoing burrito series? I only comment because I'm passionate about burritos and genuinely want to know where to find SLC's most honest burrito.

Re: “Harbor Seafood & Steak Co.

I'm beginning not to point my car towards downtown for dinner any longer. Some great neighborhood restaurants taking over the classic spaces. Great review, can't wait to go back and eat again!

Re: “Turn, Turn, Turn

This is by far my FAVORITE restaurant! I could eat their Mac and cheese all day. Please open for lunch so I can eat here more often!

Re: “Wine Trends for 2017

Ted - I could not agree more with your comment, "I think unpredictable food and wine pairings will become more acceptable and common this year." I'm so bullish on the concept, I started a company that creates unique pairings shipped monthly. It's called VinoPair. Thanks!

Re: “Provisions

Scheffler, it's time to move on – your "reviews" are so tired, they come across as pandering to the chef scene, rather than really breaking down the meal objectively. Combine that with your bored and completely uninspired "Best Burrito" review—with too many others to cite—and i'm done with your words. I suggest taking a break from critiquing to take a photography class at the local Community College, so you can at least make your "home cooking" column look the slightest bit appetizing.

Re: “Luybochka Grocery & Deli

I went here after reading the article. Definitely looks like a hole in the wall place but darn was the food amazing. The owner was similarly awesome - he makes all the food himself and was so patient in explaining what each item on the menu was and accommodating my vegetarian diet. We ordered the borsht, pirogi, verenki, pelmeni, and blitzes - all at dirt cheap prices. Having never had Russian food before, I can say I'm addicted. It's true - once you go Russian, you never go back.

Re: “The Politics of Beer

The Utah Brewers Guild has NEVER proposed a "no limit" or substantially higher limit bill.

This is straight damage control.

The "Little Bobby" speech betrays the idea that the Brewers Guild actually supports higher limits. That speech (look it up people) was 100% in support of the 4% limit, using scare tactics that our LDS legislators would eat up with jumbo sized spoons.

Look for my entry in the Lagerpalooza, "Little Bobby's Lager" a Pre-Prohibition Lager, dedicated to making sure Little Bobby doesn't have to go without his "normal" 2 beers from his parent's 6-pack.

Shame on you Robert Jensen. Sell your stake in Red Rock and leave Utah. Leave Utah.
