Re: “Blazing a Trail

Hennifer Utah? Do you mean Herriman? then what? The writer did not describe how to get to the trailhead! How far is it from Hennifer? I mean Herriman. What is smelter coal? It comes from trees? Take a hike, for real!

Re: “Wilderness First-Aid

I'd suggest the WFR to anyone looking advanced their medical skills in the outdoors. I completed the Wilderness First Responder course in Costa Rica. It’s a course in medical training, leadership, and critical thinking in low resource situations and built for leaders in remote areas, guides, military, search and rescue teams, researchers, and disaster relief workers. workers.

Re: “Swell Season

Just a little FYI -- the citizens of Emery County get pretty tired of hearing that the amazing San Rafael Swell is in "Price". All but a tiny portion of it is in EMERY county. NONE of it is located in Carbon County, much less, Price, City.

Sounds like this should be my 1st hike since moving to SLC.

Re: “Tour Guide

Great article! On either end of the gear spectrum, you can get away with bungee-cording a duffle bag or a backpack to a rear rack just fine, especially if you pack minimally. For fancy stuff, I prefer Ortlieb bags: they're waterproof, durable, and available in a variety of configurations. Re: “Tour Guide

Actually, the best source to learn everything you need to know about bicycle touring is www. bicycletouringpro. com. It's the best source out there!

Re: “Fall Hiking

I enjoy this column and its one of the ones I look forward to reading every week. Whoever is hiding behind the name of Anonymous always pops up with a sarcastic comment. Obviously Anonymous has some personal issue going on with the writer, yes?

Is this a reprint from Senior Living?

Re: “Tales Shoes Tell

Great article! Many people try and guess what types of shoes they need, and wonder why they find themselves saying "I can't run". And to Fremont's point, whom I can only assume has jumped on the minimal bandwagon because he read "Born to Run". . . minimal footwear in moderation is a great training tool to add into the mix, but not for everyone.
