Re: “Zest of Utah

What is the hipster ratio at this restaurant? Is it as bad as Eggs in the City?

Re: “From Russia With Love

I wouldn't say the restaurant serves Russian cuisine because, it seems to me, that pelmeni and shchi are the only Russian dishes there. It is a rather soviet cuisine restaurant.

Re: “From Russia With Love

Semyon recommends this place for business meetings, because you can see what tattoos a man has. Come on, we have a lot to cover. Let's cook.

Re: “Spanish Fly

Is it just me or can anyone else remember eating at a Cafe Madrid in the 90's? The content of the this article is off to me. Cafe Madrid has been making great tapas and not just recently, to be considered "sexy again." I think the angle of the article should be more in the arena of, "Cafe Madrid continues to make great tapas", and will continue well past trendy review attempts.

Re: “Get These Cookies!

The homemade chocolate chip cookies sold by a boy in the 900 South Caffe Expresso driveway are really really hard to beat. He sets up a card table there most Saturdays.

Re: “Tamales, Tortas and Tires

Alex, wait three months and follow the plan I'm about to lay out for you, the Senoritas will be all over you.
Step 1: 1000 Mg test/week
Step 2: 250 grams protein, 150 grams carbs/day
Step 3: Bill Starr 5x5 program
Step 4: Rogaine your beard area twice daily
Step 5: Return to Victor's 3 months later, walk in and say "Odelay Guey! I'm here for the pinche tamales!" Make sure you are flexing in a most muscular pose while saying this. You'll be fighting the Cholas off of you and who doesn't love sassy Mexican broads?

Re: “Manoli's

Flying from Dallas to Salt Lake City, often, results in only one good choice for Greek food, Aristos, prior to Manolis being on the scene. Although I still love Aristos for traditional Greek cooking, Manolis does a great job of interpreting Greek and Mediterranean food with a New Age twist. I will be frequenting both restaurants in my travels to Salt Lake City in the future.

Re: “Holey Doughnut Empire

Does any bakery still make spudnuts? We used to go to Vernal every year for a golf tournament and there was a bakery out there that made them, but sadly they have closed.

Re: “Grille at Garage on Beck

They used to have a great Philly cheese steak sandwich. Before, the meat had flavor, it was sliced thin and not fatty. I went this Sunday and it was horrible. The meat was cut thick, it was tough, it had an off flavor for meat and it had a lot of fat. I was really disappointed.
