This Sunday, March 5th, 2017, Veneto Ristorante Italiano owners Marco and Amy Stevanoni will host a very special wine dinner featuring exceptional Brunello and Rosso de Montalcino Italian wines. Joining Veneto guests for the evening will be Sebastian Nasello of Podere Le Ripi di Montalcino. Sebastian was recently presented with the Giulio Gambelli award for best winemaker under 35.
Ever since I encountered it years ago in New York's Chinatown, ma po tofu (or "homestyle" tofu) has been one of my favorite Szechuan dishes. This version, if I do say so myself, is better than you'll find in most local Chinese restaurants.
I really love carnitas - the Mexican meat dish of pork cooked in orange juice and other ingredients, served usually with tortillas or as tacos and burritos. Carnitas are especially popular in the Mexican state of Michoacan.
