Movie Reviews: Inferno, Certain Women, Train to Busan, Miss Hokusai

It's a thin week for new multiplex fare, but intriguing options are available among indie releases.
Kelly Reichardt's Certain Women (pictured) is somewhat uneven in its triptych adaptation of Maile Meloy short stories, but delivers a stunning final segment. The Korean thriller Train to Busan shows us a zombie apocalypse with a lot to say about a different kind of lost humanity. Miss Hokusai adapts a biographical manga series with beautiful visuals and not enough character depth.
In this week's feature review, MaryAnn Johanson finds at least a little diverting goofiness amidst the pointless absurdity of Inferno.
Also opening this week, but not screened for press are two Indian films opening at Cinemark Jordan Landing: the tale of a Himalayan mountaineer in Shivaay, and the Bollywood musical romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
