In the middle of all your Halloween plans, we'd like to give you some alternatives for music that you may not instantly play, but it sure beats listening to the "Monster Mash" remix by Fall Out Boy. That's not even a thing, and I can still tell it creeped you out. This is just the assortment of local music that came out digitally this week, and then down below we have two release shows for you to check out, in costume if you'd like. Thumb through the digital discography and then join us at the bottom for the shows.

The first show comes to us tonight at Urban Lounge, as we bid farewell to Max Pain & The Groovies with their latest album release. There's a much longer article about the band in this week's City Weekly, written by Brian Staker. Go read that article, then wish them goodbye tonight by picking up a copy of Ancient Grease and hearing their last home show in SLC with Dark Seas and Hot Vodka. Tickets are $5, and doors open at 8 p.m.

Finally, on Nov. 2, we'll see the latest release from King Tiiiger. This is one of those bands that makes me smile, because they've gone out of their way (not laziness, on purpose) to avoid social media and any real information about their band online.  You can't even download an album anywhere. If you wanna hear them, know about them and enjoy them, you need to leave the damn house and show up to their shows. You can catch them at the Urban Lounge as they release their self-titled EP and perform with Civil Lust, People Skills and Red Bennies. Tickets are $5, and the doors open at 8 p.m.
