On Saturday there's a pair of shows happening, the first at Velour for Festive People, but it's only a release for their latest single. You can go check it out as they play with  Neu Yeuth (Claire Elise) and Taylor Mir. The other show happening that night is from King Niko, the quintet from SLC featuring Ransom Wydner, Reid Laitinen, Benny Moffat, Whil McCutchan and Tim Rawcliffe. The group has been together nearly seven years and already have a decent discography under their belts. Their latest full-length album, Getting Away With It, will be released tomorrow night as the band plays at The Royal. Grab a copy and see them perform with The Beachmen and Muzzle Flash opening. Tickets are $5 and the show starts at 9 p.m.

And finally on Wednesday, April 27, we'll see the debut release from Jack Pines. This is a folk/rock trio who are transplants from Mesa, Ariz., now claiming Provo as their home. The band features Taylor Brimhall, Gregory Denton and Tony Reed; they're a killer live act that has earned a nice following in Utah County. Their debut full-length album, Laws of Motion, will be released next week at Velour as the band plays with Steel Born Buffalo and Kitfox opening the show. Tickets are $8 and the show starts at 8 p.m.
