Next Wednesday, April 13th, beginning at 6:30 PM, Cannella's Restaurant & Lounge will host a fun-sounding wine dinner featuring "approachable" French wines paired with regional French cuisine. Chef and wine expert Drew Ellsworth of Southern Wine & Spirits and Ecole Dijon Cooking School will be the guest for the evening and will be on hand to discuss the foods and wines.
The tentative 4-course menu is as follows:
Mushrooms á la Provençal, garlic, shallots herbs and white wine + Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace
Najaçois Salad—Butter lettuce, toasted walnuts, Orange wheels, Drew’s pickled red cabbage + Terres Fumés—Sauvignon Blanc
Southern “Coq au Vin”—Tender Chicken slowly cooked in red wine with garbanzos, pearl onions and Butternut Squash + Michel Chapoutier “Ciboise Rouge” Rhône/Luberon
Olive Oil Cake with Honey Glaze and French Vanilla Gelato—Elegant Sponge cake made with light olive oil—a tradition in the South of France + Beaumes de Venise Rhône Muscat Dessert wine.
The cost for the dinner is a mere $30 for food and $25 for the optional wine pairings.
RSVP by calling 801-355-8518.
