Oh, how the years have passed on this little engine, one that's nearly wrecked a few times. Yes kids, on Jan. 1, this blog will turn eight years old. That makes it middle-aged compared to the vast majority of media blogs you see in the world. It's that one rock star who found fame and fortune, got into drugs, alcohol or horse-betting for thrills, somehow survived all that and the other random damage it did to itself on stage, and now is both revered and hated for all those things. Oh my, I'm the Iggy Pop of blogging.

Every year that this blog reaches another milestone, I'm always thankful—first, to the fine people at City Weekly who have continues to allow it to run and thrive as a source for local entertainment. I don't know what you personally think of everyone that's ever passed through the house that John built, but I'm super thankful to them for allowing me the ability, after all this time, to keep showing you the new and interesting stuff in your own back yard. But most of all, thank you for reading this. Whoever you are, you are what makes this blog continue to run, and without your readership and love for this, it wouldn't exist. So thank you for reading it as long as you have, and as always, we'll see what the next year brings. Below are events for the next two weeks for you to check out now that you're almost clear of the holidays. Take care!
