One of the busiest movie weekends of the year is on the horizon, as a few other releases fight for air against the Star Wars monolith.

In the documentary Heart of a Dog, musician/artist Laurie Anderson takes the death of her dog and spins it into a fascinating meditation on grief and mortality.

Eric D. Snider shrugs at the benign tedium of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (pictured), a story made exclusively for undiscerning children.

In this week's feature review, the enjoyable pairing of Tina Fey and Amy Pohler in Sisters collides with an unsteady structure that miscasts at least one of them. And Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens delivers a solid adventure that gives fans exactly what they want—and that's not always a good thing
