I'm a 1970s girl. Seventies' fashion is very real for me because I got to watch my mom dress up on Thursday nights to go dancing at the Élan, a Philadelphia nightclub in the vein of Studio 54. It was a decade of decay and decadence.

The rock band the Rolling Stones helped define fashion in their choices of lovers and sometimes wives. Before he drowned, original Stones member Brian Jones courted the Italian actress Anita Pallenberg (she also later dated guitarist Keith Richards). Mick Jagger kept company with Marianne Faithfull, moved on to Studio 54 dance queen Bianca Jagger (Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias, before they married) and then married model Jerry Hall.

All of these ladies have more in common than screwing rock gods; they were also poster girls for 1970s fashion. Their style is alive in today's fashion—from fringed purses, flair jeans, wooden platform shoes and floppy felt hats. Hell, I've even seen a faux-fur vest at Target that is to die for.
