Orin Swift wines are some of my favorites. And although I enjoy big-budget Orin Swift wines like Papillon, The Prisoner and such, I turn most often to the more economical line of Orin Swift wines, called Locations.

Each Locations bottle is adorned with a label consisting of a single letter - the country code for where the wine originated: I for Italy, E for Spain (España), and F for France, for example.

For my money, the Locations wines from France - F1, F2 and F3 - are a hard bargains to beat, priced at $17.99. It's a red wine blend of Grenache from the Roussillon, Syrah from the Rhone, and assorted Bordeaux varietals.

The essential philosophy behind Locations was to make wines utilizing the best grape varieties from the great wine regions of France, Italy, etc. So, each country will ultimately probably be represented by many Locations wines. F-1 was fruity, with soft tannins, but packed enough punch to drink alongside steak frites.

I suggest picking up Locations  wines from a range of countries and enjoying a wine-tasting trip around the globe.
