Peering into the colorful works of SLC artist Hillary Livingston
Now that we're exiting festival season in Utah, we're seeing a lot of new artists who may start getting some much-deserved attention. The Dahlia Room

SLC adult boutique celebrates a year of "sex-positive" shopping on Broadway
When you live in a repressed environment, tied to the fact that we have both the highest porn subscription tally and one of the weakest sex-education programs in North America, it's pretty easy to see why Utah has some of the strangest misconceptions about sex and sexual activity in the U.S. It isn't like the information isn't out there, but finding resources to speak on the subject are few and far between. Movie Reviews: We Are Your Friends, No Escape, Mistress America

Also: War Room, Meru, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck
Summer winds down, with under-the-radar new releases including faith-based drama, independent comedy and documentary about a death-defying mountaineering expedition. We Are Your Friends (pictured) drifts through multiple sub-plots and settings, yet effectively (and energetically) captures a generation unsure of how they can find success.

Cody McKendrick and Ross Metzer on homebrewing and expansion into Ogden
Homebrewing in Utah isn't just a pastime anymore; it has turned into a booming industry that underground beer lovers are enjoying the hell out of. I mean, honestly, kids: Where the hell else am I going to find a guy who makes a pumpkin ale infused with onions?
