Some of the films and performances recently announced as Academy Awards nominees have come and gone from theaters; some are still on their way. Here's a look at how to do your catching up if you want to be fully informed come Oscar time.
Awaiting Release: Several titles are on the
Salt Lake Film Society schedule for February, including Best Actress nominees Marion Cotillard (
Two Days, One Night, Feb. 6) and Julianne Moore (
Still Alice, Feb. 13). Nominated in four categories (Cinematography, Costume Design, Production Design and Original Score),
Mr. Turner is also slated for Feb. 6. Best Animated Feature nominee
Song of the Sea arrives Feb. 13, with Best Foreign Language Film nominee
Leviathan scheduled for Feb. 20. The Tower Theatre also typically screens a special program of the nominated features in all three short film categories—Animated, Live Action and Documentary—in late February; watch the schedule for updates. (All release dates are subject to change.)
