City Weekly took first place in eight categories in Utah’s annual Society of Professional Journalists awards, held Thursday.Notably, Stephen Dark and Eric S. Peterson held down the top spots in six of the nine news reporting categories: criminal justice, business/consumer, education, government, religion/values and personality profile. City Weekly staff and freelancers took home a total of 18 awards in the contest, hosted by the Utah Headliners, the state chapter of the national Society of Professional Journalists.
