Wine Wednesday: Coppola Director's Cut Cinema

During a recent visit to Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Sonoma, I had the opportunity to taste a unique wine called Director's Cut Cinema ($39). --- The Director's Cut series from Coppola Winery is said by the winemakers to "reflect our winemaking team's artistic interpretation of the [Sonoma] region."

The Cinema wine, its bottle adorned with label art representing filmstrips, is a limited-production, proprietary blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Syrah from various specific Sonoma County appellations: Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and Knights Valley.

It's got gorgeous dark berry fruit flavors with the spiciness of a Super Tuscan and a lengthy, lingering finish.
