Glad You Asked: Weekend To-Dos

Dear GYA, This weekend is by far my favorite part of the year. I'm not talking about Easter, I'm talking gonna Peeps, baby. You know. those slightly stale, gritty, sugary marshmallow globs? They're delicious. More than likely I'm gonna slam my weight in Peeps all weekend. That's right, I'm gonna Peep so damn hard. Anything going on this weekend besides extreme Peepin'? Rick Rocker, Rose Park---

Rick,  you disgust me. Here's what's going down this weekend, starting with Friday's events: 

Salt Lake Comic Con's Fan X will be going down at the Salt Palace all weekend. Doors open at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $20. 

The Up All Night Tour will be happening at Kilby Court this evening featuring rappers Yonas, The Specktators, Pell, Khaleel and Sam Spacely. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $14.

Gutterbilly band The Goddamn Gallows will be at In The Venue tonight. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12.  

Tom Green, stand-up comedian and actor from the popular film Freddy Got Fingered will be at Wiseguys West Valley tonight and Saturday night. There's two shows, one at 7:30 p.m. and another at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

Reggae band Tribal Seeds will be at Park City Live this evening. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $28. 


Saturday's events:  

The Winter Farmers Market will be happening at the Rio Grande Depot today at 10 a.m. Admission is free.  

Norwegian agrotech band Combichrist will be at In The Venue tonight. William Control and New Years Day are also on the bill. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

Utah metal band Dipped in Whiskey will be on stage at Shred Shed. Disengaged is also performing. The show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $7.  

The Trash Bash will be going down at Urban Lounge featuring music from Matty Mo and Bo York. Music starts at 9 p.m. There's a $4 cover after 10 p.m.

Led Zeppelin cover band No Quarter will be at The Depot. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $16.   

Broken Arrow singer and songwriter JD McPherson will be at The State Room. The Hollering Pines will open up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

The Salt Lake Bees will be taking on the Albuquerque Isotopes tonight at Smith's Ballpark. The game starts at 6:30. Tickets start at $5.   


Sunday's events:  

The Broadway hit War Horse will be at Capitol Theatre today. Showings are at 1 p.m. and  6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35. 

Brewvies will be hosting the Geek Show Podcast at 5 p.m. Stick around for a free screening of this week's episode of Cosmos beginning at 8 p.m. Both events are free! 

It's Funk and Soul Night at Bourbon House tonight with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free!

DIY punk band White Fang will be at Urban Lounge tonight. American Culture, Jawwzz and Season Of The Witch will warm it up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free!
