Nine-year-old football phenom Samantha Gordon is no longer the only Utahn to grace a Wheaties cereal box. Park City resident and Sochi Olympic gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg will soon join the ranks of the notable athletes like Michael Jordan, Carl Lewis and Barry Sanders who believe in the awesome power of bran flakes. ---

The box will feature Sage’s “Holy Crail,” which is, of course, his signature grab. It was first seen by the world during the Sochi Olympics, where Kotsenburg won the first gold medal for Team USA in the slopestyle competition.

It would appear that when it comes to big-money endorsement deals for this Utah resident, Wheaties is just the beginning. Robert Tuchman, president of the sports and entertainment marketing company Goviva, recently told ABC News that Olympic "rookie" athletes like Kotsenburg could earn anywhere between $250,000 to $500,000 for major endorsement deals. Though that seems like a lot of cash, Shaun White (who didn't medal in Sochi) took home an estimated $40 million in endorsements last year.

In a press release from Park City Mountain Resorts, Kotsenburg was noted as saying, “Standing on top of the podium was a huge honor and words can’t describe how awesome it feels to join the amazing athletes who have come before me as part of the Wheaties legacy.”

Look for the special-edition box later this spring.
