Dear GYA, the worst thing about the Olympics being over is saying goodbye to the athletes that I grew fond of over the past couple of weeks ... and also knowing that I'll probably forget about them and not give a shit about their sport for at least four years. Meh. Anything happening now that the Olympics are over? - Helen Warfeler, The Avenues---
Helen, you know, the Pan Am Games are only 6 months away ... if you still care about "Olympic-type sports," of course. Here's what's happening tonight:
Country-folk singer and one-time contestant on The Voice Austin Jenckes. will be in stage at Kilby Court this evening. Cody Beebe & the Crooks are also on the bill. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.
The Utah Jazz will be taking on the Boston Celtics at EnergySolutions Arena tonight. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $7.75.
Electronic DJ and producer MartyParty will be performing at Urban Lounge. Joker, Robo Clip and Steesus Nice will warm things up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.
