ERIC(A) Revived, Heads Out on Tour

Usually by the time City Weekly is handing out performing-arts Artys awards, it's too late to see the honored performances. Here's a rare opportunity to catch up with a winner. ---

Plan-B Theatre Company's production of Matthew Ivan Bennett's Eric(a) -- originally staged in February 2013 -- starred Teresa Sanderson in a one-(wo)man show about a female-to-male transgender person. The performance won the reader vote for the 2013 Artys Awards, and this week the production gets a special two-day revival at Ogden's Good Company Theatre (260 25th St.) Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 12 - 13, at 8 p.m.

The local return allows a bit of a warm-up before the production heads out on tour for two stops on opposite sides of the continent. On Nov. 16, Eric(a) visits New York's United Solo Theatre Festival. Then, on January 3-5, the production hits Theatre Out in Santa Ana, Calif. It's a chance for the rest of the country to see some of the best theater Utah has to offer.
