Nannies who don't fly like Mary Poppins

Flying with children can be exhausting, and more than one parent has probably wished they could bring a babysitter along. However, shelling out for a ticket for a babysitter, along with paying for their time, make this incredibly impractical. Nanny in the Clouds, a service that pairs parents looking for an extra set of hands with sitters who are already on that same flight, aims to change this. ---

Potential caregivers register what flights they will be on, and parents can choose from there or make their own post seeking a sitter for the flight. Similar to other babysitting websites, like Care.com or SitterCity, potential nannies provide references and, if applicable, previous reviews from others who they've flown with. The site also offers numerous tips for flying with kids, whether you're hiring help for the flight or not. Parents pay a $10 matching fee, as well as an agreed-upon payment for the sitter. The site recommends $20 an hour.

Next time you fly, let somebody else answer the question, “Are we there yet?”
