Swiping wristbands at Disneyland

Disney is once again completely changing how guests experience its theme parks. Its new system, MyMagic+, with its accompanying MagicBand (an RFID bracelet) promise to radically upend the way you spend your day at Disney. --- Programmed with your credit card and resort-hotel information, the bracelet allows you to wander the park, get into your hotel, schedule when you want to ride a ride and check in when it's time, buy lunch and souvenirs, all with a swipe of your MagicBand.

How does it work? The park will provide annual-pass holders and guests who are staying at a Disney resort with a MagicBand, and guests staying offsite or coming on a day pass will receive a similarly functioning card. Using an included Web app, MagicBand users can schedule when they want to ride rides or visit attractions, and set up linking to a credit card for purchases. If you're worried about letting the kids run wild with a credit-equipped bracelet, don't worry: Current plans include a pin number for using the bracelet for purchases. MyMagic+ will debut at Walt Disney World in spring or summer of next year, with the technology likely expanding to other Disney parks in 2015.
