Dear GYA, So, now Instagram isn’t going to sell my photos! Damn it, I was gonna make so much money. I thought for sure they were gonna swoop on that black-and-white pic I took of my cat wearing mittens, or at least my entire collection of half-eaten waffles shot with a Lo-Fi filter. Well, hell, is there anything to do today besides sell crap on Instagram?- Michelle Krispinsen, Provo---

Michelle, Continue your quest of taking photos of pointless hoo-ha; it'll all payoff someday. In the meantime, here are some options for today:

After today's matinee performance of The Nutcracker head to the Capitol Theatre to get your photo taken with Ballet West's Sugar Plum Fairy and all her fairy friends. The meet and greet starts at 4:15 p.m.

The monthly Film Festival Flix showcase is going down at Brewvies tonight. Check out special screenings of prize-winning independent motion pictures like The Holy Land of Tyrol, which focuses on the life of a fictional family played out against true historical events. The film won Audience Awards for Best Film at the Munich Film Festival and at the Lessinia (Italy) Film Festival. The show starts at 6.

Singer-songwriter Matthew White will be performing at Kilby Court tonight. White, an accomplished jazz arranger and guitarist, leads his house band Spacebomb on a seven-song tour de force—equipped with a seven-person choir, brass ensemble and strings, to boot!—that pays homage to White’s idols, including Randy Newman, Allen Toussaint, Jorge Ben and Washington Phillips. The show starts at 7.

A few more options for today:

- Soul Night at Urban Lounge kicks-off at 9 p.m.

- The Piano Guys will be performing at Kingsbury Hall, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

- Wiseguys Trolley Square will be hosting Open Mic Night, starting at 7:30 p.m.
