Dear GYA, When the Department of State asked me to be the Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East, I was just as shocked as you. But I don't blame Hilary Clinton. I bet she heard some of my tracks, like "Party Till You Puke," "Party Hard" and "It's Time To Party" and was all, like, "We need some positive partying in the Middle East." Any opportunities to party tonight? - Andrew W.K.---

Andrew, This is by far the most American thing ever. But, you're right, the world needs more partying. Here are some options for tonight:

British metal-core band Asking Alexandria will be onstage at In The Venue/Club Sound. Often skipping between metal and dubstep, the heavy-hitting band have appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has also toured with Guns 'N Roses. As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, Memphis May Fire and Attila will be opening up. The show starts at 6.

Tower Theater will be showing the award-winning indie film Daylight Savings. The film premiered at SXSW in Austin earlier this year and received much of its funding through a Kickstarter campaign. Director Dave Boyle will be in attendance at the screening. The show starts at 7:30.

The musical comedy Off-White Christmas will be showcased at the Off-Broadway Theatre. The show spoofs the Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye musical White Christmas. This comedy is sure to have laughs, as the main characters dress as women to get out of some sticky predicaments, and also sing and tap dance their way to fame and fortune. There may even be a Christmas Miracle or two.

A few other worthwhile events:

- It's Pub Quiz Night at The Republican, starting at 9:30 p.m.

Cellist Matt Zalkind will be performing at Utah State University, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

- The Gallivan Center Ice Rink is open for skating all day today.
