Friday kicks off the ski and snowboard season, so why not bank a little karma for the slopes by bringing canned nonperishable food items up to the resort and contributing to a holiday food drive put on by Canyons Resort and the Christian Center of Park City?---

The season of need comes sooner and sooner, and this year the Canyons Resort and the Christian Center of Park City are seeking to collect 9,900 pounds of food items. The Christian Center, an interdenominational community support center that services hungry clients in Park City as well as Summit and Wasatch Counties, says the need is especially urgent this year and they’re calling on all to donate if they can.

Needed food items include canned soup, peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, white rice, dried beans and cooking oil. The center is also trying to help struggling families by collecting baby items such as diapers, wipes, baby formula and baby food.

Look for the donation bins at supporting locations, Friday Nov. 23-Dec. 21:

Grand Summit, Silverado, Sundial Lodge, 4000 Canyons Resort Drive, Park City

Waldorf Astoria, 2100 Frostwood Drive, Park City

Hyatt Escala at Park City, 3551 North Escala Court, Park City

Westgate Park City, 3000 Canyons Resort Drive, Park City

Sunrise Lodge, 2307 W. High Mountain Road, Park City

The Miners Club, 4070 Willow Draw, Park City

Walmart Supercenter, 6545 Landmark Drive, Park City
