Dear GYA, I can't wait till the new iPad Mini comes out next week. So far, all we know is ... wait for it ... it's mini. Yeah, pretty sweet, right? Because I'm in desperate need of something smaller than my iPad2 but bigger than my iTouch4 and not quite as bulky as my MacBook Air, know what I'm sayin'? Well, anything good happening before I go camp out at the Apple Store? - Mark Dooshaney, Provo
Mark, I'd hold off if I were you, because the iPad Mini2 will probably come out in a few months and you know it's gonna be even more mini. Anyway, here are a few decent things going down tonight:
Hard-hitting hip-hop duo Zion I will be at Urban Lounge. The Bay Area natives just released their eighth studio album, ShadowBoxing, on Oct. 2. Dubstep producer Minnesota, Free the Robots and Inclined are also on the bill. The doors open at 9 p.m.
Power-pop band Boys Like Girls will be onstage at the UCCU Center. The band made "history" in 2009 when they played alongside Hoobastank and The All American Rejects at the MTV World Stage Concert in Malaysia. Their newest release, Crazy World, is set to release Dec. 12. Doors open at 7 p.m.
In Provo, check out BYU's presentation of The Legend of Sleepy Hallow. Based on Washington Irving's spooky tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is sure to help get your scare on. It will be at the Margetts Theatre inside the Harris Fine Arts Center. The show starts at 2 p.m.
A few other worthwhile events:
- Weber County Main Library will be showing a free screening of The Evil Dead tonight at 6:30 p.m.
- The Museum of Contemporary Art's installment Battleground States will be going on all day today.
- True TV and Brewvies will be showing the latest episode of Sons of Anarchy for free on the big screen. The show starts at 8 p.m. (21+).
