Dear GYA, To hell with fall. Yeah, it really is the crappiest time of the year. Everything tastes like pumpkin, I hate layering and I spent all afternoon yesterday helping my wife pick out decorative gourds only to polish the crap out 'em and arrange' em in a stupid horn-shaped basket.--- Anything happening today that doesn't involve squash and layering? - Olaf Rambottom, Cottonwood Heights

Olaf, I feel ya, man. I can't stand layering. If only there were some sort of bag contraption that could hold a sweatshirt once you took it off. You know? That way, you wouldn't have to carry it around. Oh well, here's what's good tonight:

The alternative rock band Chevelle will be performing at The Great Saltair. Often compared to Tool, or at least a softer version of Tool, Chevelle was once thought to be a Christian rock band because of its involvement with Amy Grant's label Word. They put that rumor to bed by playing Ozzfest with bands like Cradle of Filth. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

As part of their Horror Cinema Tuesdays, the Weber County Main Library will be showing a back-to-back free screening of the old-timey Halloween classics Frankenstein and Nosferatu. The screams kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Speaking of free screenings, Brewvies, City Weekly and True TV will be serving up a free showing of the latest Sons of Anarchy episode, beginning at 8 p.m. (21+)

Other worthwhile events happening tonight:

- Geeks Who Drink pub trivia will be happening at Maggie McGee's, starting at 8 p.m.

- At Urban Lounge, B.Dolan, Oso Negro and MC Pigpen will be on the mic, beginning at 9 p.m.

- For some local stand-up action, check out Comedy Roadkill @ The Complex at 7:30 p.m.
